50th Anniversary Info

A “sister city” represents a long-term partnership between two cities in different countries promoting peace and cultural exchange through people-to-people programs. The idea of Hermosa Beach adopting a sister city began in 1966 when Jack Belasco, Mayor of Hermosa Beach, along with Jack Wise, councilman and chairman of the sister city steering committee, proposed the partnership between Hermosa Beach and Loreto Baja California Sur, Mexico.

The city of Hermosa Beach is Celebrating the 50 Year Anniversary  with their sister-city Loreto, BCS, Mexico on

Sunday Sept. 24th  on the Hermosa Beach Pier Plaza stage.

Entertainment begins at 2 PM. Loreto Plaza re-dedication ceremony to follow.
